palak pulav/ green pulav

Ingredients:


spinach - 1 1/2 cup
coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
curry leaves- 10-12 leaves
green chilies- 4-5
salt- as per the taste
rice (soaked for 30 minutes) -  2 cups
green peas- 1 cup
pav bhaji masala- 1 tbsp
cashews- 15-20
jeera- 1 tsp
ghee- 1 tbsp
oil- 1 tbsp
black pepper- 8-10
 green cardamom- 2
cinnamon- 1/2 inch stick
bay leaf- 2
honey- 1 tbsp
water- as per the requirement of rice


Procedure:


Step 1. Blend spinach, coriander leaves, green chilies with a little water. Make a smooth paste.
Step 2. Heat a pan and add black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf together and roast till the spices leave their fragrance.
Step 3. Heat oil. Add ghee. Add cumin seeds. As soon as cumin seeds crackle, add cashews and cook till these turn golden brown.
Step 4. Add the spinach paste.Cook for a minute.
Step 5. Now, add the rice and roasted spices.Add green peas and pav bhaji masala.
Add water and cook till rice gets cooked.
Step 6. Add honey.
Green pulav is ready to be served. Serve hot with boondi raita.
