Nothing can serve your sweet tooth as good as a cake.. That too,a homemade version, with ingredients that can be easily found at your home..Take a note of this recipe and try this at home today itself..
Ingredients:
- all purpose flour/ maida- 1 cup
- whole wheat flour- 1 cup
- oil- 1/2 cup
- sugar- 2/3 cup
- rose essence- 12-15 drops
- malai/ home made cream - 1/4 cup
- baking powder- 1 tsp
- baking soda- 1 tsp
- milk- as per the requirement ( i needed approximately 1.5 cup )
- rose syrup
Procedure:
Sieve maida, whole wheat flour, baking soda and baking powder together. Add oil, sugar, rose essence, cream and milk as per requirement. Add rose syrup. Fold well. Use the hand blender to mix it well for around 90 seconds.Ensure that you mix it in one direction only. Make the batter airy. Make a consistency which well fall from the spoon forcibly. Not too fluid like dosa, not too solid like cookies batter, etc.
Now, grease the tin with oil and flour.
Pour the batter into the tin.
Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for around 25 minutes in a preheated oven. If making it in cooker, preheat the cooker without whistle on it. Place the tin in preheated cooker and close it with a plate on it. Cook for 10 minutes on high flame, 10 minutes on low flame. Turn off the flame and keep it inside for about 20 to 25 minutes. Then take it out of cooker and let it cool. Then de-mould.
Use a stick or knife to check if it is cooked well. If it comes out nice and clean then the cake is cooked well. If it does not, then bake it for another 5-8 minutes at 180.
Cut the cake properly to flatten it and then cut into pieces to make a perfect cake.
I have added the frosting to cake with rose flavored whipped cream and a cherry on the cake.
