Sweet Corn Dhokla

    Serves                           :   4
    Preparation  time     :   5 minutes
    Cooking  time             :   10  minutes
 

Ingredients:

  • rava- 2 cups
  • sweet corn (crushed) -2 cups
  • ginger-chili paste - 2 tsp
  • olive oil- 1 tsp (optional) - can be replaced with regular cooking oil
  • salt to taste.
  • curd (preferably sour)- 3/4 cup
  • eno/fruit salt(small packet)
  • lemon drops- 15-20
  • coriander leaves-1/2 cup- for garnishing
  • coconut- fresh or desiccated - for garnishing
  • mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves- 7-10
  • sugar- 2 tsp
  • water- 1/2 cup 

Procedure:


1. Crush the sweet corn by adding curd to it. Mix it with the rava.

2. Add salt, ginger chili paste to it.

3. Add eno salt to it. Add few drops of lemon over it. Add 1/2 cup of warm water over it. 


4.Gently fold the mixture. Don't mix it too much.Ensure the soda gets folded well.
5. Add the mixture immediately to the oil greased thali/plate. Level the plate.

6. Steam this mixture for 10 minutes on fast flame. Prick the knife into it. If knife comes out clean, then dhokla is steamed. Otherwise steam for another 2 minutes.


7. Cut these into pieces when cooled.
8. Prepare the tempering as:
a. Heat oil. Add mustard seeds. Let them crackle, Add cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
b. Add curry leaves.
c. Add water and add sugar.

9.Now add the dhokla into the tempering. Add coriander and coconut. 

10. Serve with your favorite chutney.









A quick and simple yet tastier delicacy is ready within no time.
