nipattu

Nipattu is a South Indian Style pooris which is a perfect snacking option as it is tasty and healthy together. This can be easily made with all ingredients available at home and it takes hardly 30 minutes to make this wonderful snacks at home. Note the recipe and try it yourself.. I bet, you all will love it :)

Ingredients:

Chaval ka atta / rice flour-  1 cup
maida/ plain flour- 1/4 cup
rava/ semolina- 1/4 cup
roasted chana dal (split bengal gram) - 1/4 cup
roasted groundnuts- 1/4 cup
jeera- 1 tbsp
red chili powder- 1 tbsp
salt - as per taste
curry leaves- 1/2 cup ( cut into small pieces)
hot oil- 1/4 cup (for mohan)
til/sesame seeds- 1 tbsp
oil- for frying


Procedure:

1. Mix all the atta / flours.



2. In a mixer jar, add groundnuts, roasted chana dal and jeera. Grind it coarsely.




 3. Add the coarsely ground mixture, curry leaves, sesame seeds and red chili powder to the flour mix. Add salt to taste.

4. Mix well. Add 1/4 cup hot oil and mix it with the flour with the help of 2 spoons.

5. Mix well till you get the crumbled texture.


6. Add water and make a soft dough out of it. Now, make small balls out of it and roll it into small pooris.


7. Deep fry these pooris on medium slow flame till golden brown.


8. Serve these pooris with the acchar or chutney of your choice. Store in an airtight container, to enjoy the taste for about 15 days ( I guess, you would finish these in 2-3 days itself)
